Dorathea Peters, “Dodie,” is an excellent technical writer and computer software trainer. For the past 13 years, Dorathea has held the position of Training Supervisor in the ISS Department of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago and has worked closely with the ISS development team. She has taught numerous classes on Microsoft Office Applications, Microsoft Windows, and other software applications; including the donor management software developed for the Jewish Federation by the Jewish Federation.
Dorathea is a Microsoft Certified Trainer in the Office Suite of Applications. She has developed Access Databases for the organization, assisted in PowerPoint development and has written countless technical documents for users and ISS staff. She has worked closely with the Help Desk and has assisted with the management of the help desk software including the management of the ISS inventory.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Science Education. Before working at the Jewish Federation, Dorathea was a highly acclaimed educator serving as an Elementary teacher for 8 years, Junior High teacher for 2 years, High School Teacher for 5 years, and a college adjunct professor for 4 years.
Dodie retired from her position in June of 2012, but is still actively pursuing work as a technical writer and computer software trainer. She is available for short term and long term projects.
